Pat’s Pizza To Honor Late Owner With Charity Cruise-In This June
Like many in the Orono area last November, I was heartbroken to learn about the passing of local restaurateur Carl "Bruce" Farnsworth.
Growing up in the area, he was such a fixture, not only at the iconic Pat's Pizza location but in the community, too, It was hard to imagine Orono without Bruce.

Having visited Pat's a handful of times since he died, I can say he is certainly missed, but his legacy is alive and well in the family and the business he left behind.
The same family and business he poured his heart and soul into while he was alive have come up with a great way to honor Bruce after his death by combining two things he loved very much: helping people and cool cars.
The first (of what we hope will be many) Carl "Bruce" Farnsworth Charity Cruise-In will take place this summer in the parking lot of the Anah Shriners building on Broadway.
According to organizers from Pat's Pizza, who are sponsoring the event, the date of the event will be Saturday, June 8th, with a rain date of Sunday, June 9th.
"The family thought this way is the best way [honor] to Bruce! We all love & miss you every day."
There's a $10 entry fee for vehicles. The proceeds collected that day will be split between 3 local charities: The Old Town Animal Orphanage, The Shriner's Hospital For Children, and The Bangor Humane Society.
There will be food and beverage available, and an auction along with music from a DJ, too.
