Two women were injured Tuesday morning after a two-vehicle crash on Washington Street in Auburn.

Woman Seriously Injured after Crash

The Auburn Police Department said 77-year-old Carole Bennett from Lewiston was driving across the street when her vehicle was hit by 25-year-old Hedulene Domingos from Lewiston.

Impact sent Car in Grass Median

“The impact sent Bennett’s vehicle across the grass median and into the northbound lanes,” said Auburn PD.

Woman Seriously Injured

Bennet was seriously injured and taken to the hospital. Domingos was injured in the crash.

Driving with Learners Permit and No Licensed Driver

“Domingos was operating with a learners permit and was not accompanied by a licensed driver,” said Auburn Police.

Charges Expected

Charges are expected in the case and the investigation is ongoing.
