Tractor Trailer Hauled by Tow Truck Caught Fire on I-95 in Maine
A tractor trailer being hailed by a tow truck caught on fire after one of its tires ignited on I-95 in Auburn.
Tractor Trailer Fire on Turnpike
The incident happened early Monday morning around 3:45 am at mile marker 75.
Semi on Fire and Tow Truck not Damaged
The tractor trailer’s tire “ignited by an unknown cause, resulting in the entire vehicle catching fire. The tow truck was disengaged and sustained no damage,” said the Maine State Police.
Tow Truck Driver not Injured
The tow truck driver, Bradley Miller, was not injured. The tow truck is owned by Flynn's Towing out of Juliustown, New Jersey.
Crash Investigation
One lane of the Turnpike was closed for hours and then reopened to traffic. Police said the investigation is ongoing.
