State Fire Marshal Investigators say the likely cause of the fire this week in Dresden was smoking. 

An electrical inspection determined there was no electrical issue in the back of the building where the fire started, said officials The area was also the designated smoking area for the Freedom Center. The fire has been ruled accidental.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office says the investigation into the fire over the weekend that heavily damaged the Freedom Center in Dresden continues. 

Investigators say an electrical inspector is scheduled to assist them on Tuesday.

The fire started in the rear of the building, near the electrical entrance & designated smoking area for residents. Thirteen people were left homeless by the fire broke that out early Sunday morning, said officials.
