
Man Seriously Injured after Hitting Garbage Truck in Maine
A 43-year-old man was seriously injured Wednesday morning after crashing into a garbage truck on Main Street in Limestone.
Man with Critical Injuries Airlifted to Hospital for Treatment
Joseph Poisson from Limestone had life-threatening injuries and was taken to Cary Medical Center in Caribou and then airlifted to a Bangor hospital.

Driver Hit Garbage Truck Parked on the Side of the Road Picking Up Trash
The Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office said Poisson was driving a 2014 Ford Fusion around 6:00 am when he struck a garbage truck parked along the roadside collecting trash.
Garbage Truck is Locally Owned
The 2015 Freightliner garbage truck is owned by Caldwell’s Sanitation.

Crash is Under Investigation and Reconstruction
The incident remains under investigation. The crash was being reconstructed with the assistance of the Presque Isle Police Department.

First responders on the scene included The Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office, Caribou Ambulance Service, the Limestone Fire Department, the Fort Fairfield Police Department, the Presque Isle Police Department, a drone pilot from the Maine State Police, and the Commercial Motor Vehicle Unit.
