A husband and wife died Sunday morning and one person was seriously injured after a head-on crash in Sanford.

The Sanford Police Department said 86-year-old Arthur Karcher and 85-year-old Catherine Karcher died after they were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

A 32-year-old woman from Lyman in the other vehicle was also transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

Vehicle Crossed the Centerline and Crashed with an Oncoming Vehicle

Police said the Karchers were in a Chevy Malibu when their vehicle crossed the centerline and collided with a Toyota Highlander.
