Police are looking for a 38-year-old man on probation and facing drug charges after he absconded from a medical care facility in Rockland.
Man Charged with Drug Possession after Cocaine and Crack Seized
Daniel Barnes was charged with drug possession after officers seized cocaine and crack from a local hotel room.
Absconded from a Medical Care Facility
He had to be released to a medical facility and “absconded from that care," according to Rockland PD.
Drug Trafficking Investigation in the Area
Police were investigating drug trafficking in the area when he was arrested.

Out on Bail for Felony Drug Charges
Barnes was out on bail for a different felony drug charge when he was taken into custody.
Probation for Domestic Violence Conviction
He was also on probation for a Domestic Violence Criminal Threatening conviction.

Arrest Made as Part of Proactive Crime Interdiction Officer
The Rockland Police Department said “This arrest was made by Rockland's Proactive Crime Interdiction Officer (PCIO), a new position approved this year to focus on proactively addressing; through community oriented and modern law enforcement techniques, areas involved in burglary or theft sprees, narcotic use/sales, high-volume traffic infractions, and disorderly properties or neighborhoods.”
