The Woodstock RCMP is investigating a vandalism incident earlier this month that resulted in thousands of dollars in damage to a golf course green in Hartland, New Brunswick.

Police say the damage at the Covered Bridge Golf and Country Club was done at about 1:15 a.m. on Saturday, September 7. It's believed that an off-road vehicle drove onto the green of the sixth hole and spun the vehicle around in circles, causing extensive damage. This also resulted in significant damage to the area adjacent to the green.

Officials at the golf club said it's likely that area of the course won't be fully repaired until spring.
