The West District RCMP is asking for the public's help in identifying whoever is responsible for the recent theft of thousands of dollars’ worth of merchandise from a fishing equipment store in Clair, New Brunswick.

Sometime during the overnight hours of May 17 and May 18, someone broke into the store on Route 161, according to Cpl. Michel Ouellette.

Several items were stolen, including Sage and Cortland fishing rods, Hardy and Cortland fishing reels, Vision, Simmes, Switch and Rappala fishing accessories, as well as more than 3000 salmon flies, the RCMP said in a news release on Monday.

L.G.Fly & Rod reported items of sentimental value were also stolen and there was damage to the store.
