A 47-year-old man from Petit-Rocher has been charged for trafficking cocaine, in relation to an arrest that was made in the area of Balmoral, N.B.

On October 13, 2016, members of the Campbellton detachment of the RCMP arrested the man on the property of a local hunting and fishing club, as a result of an ongoing investigation.

A quantity of what is believed to be cocaine was seized during the arrest, said police.

Monday, Pascal Chagnon appeared in Campbellton Provincial Court and was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking in cocaine.

He has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear again in court on December 5.
