29-year-old Maine Man Hit Emergency Vehicle at Rollover Crash
A 29-year-old man was injured Thursday night after colliding with an emergency vehicle parked at the scene of a rollover crash on Main Road in Abbot.
Maine Man Collided with Emergency Vehicle
The Piscataquis County Sheriff's Office said George Dyke was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
“Alcohol Believed to be a Factor” in Crash
“Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the accident,” said the Sheriff’s Office.
Rollover Crash
The incident happened around 9:45 pm after Deputies and the Guilford Fire Department responded to a rollover crash.
“Emergency Lights Flashing”
“Members of the Guilford Fire Department arrived in their personal vehicle first and parked with emergency lights flashing in order to try to slow traffic down,” said officials.
Driver Collided with First Responders Pickup
Dyke crashed his 2022 Chevy pickup into the parked pickup of one of the first responders from the Guilford Fire Department.
Crash Investigation Ongoing
The driver involved in the original crash was not injured. Police are investigating the crash.
