The truck was engulfed in flames and no one was inside the vehicle when police arrived Monday at a lane off Highway 109 in Three Brooks, New Brunswick.

RCMP Police Dog Services and an RCMP Forensic Identification specialist assisted with the investigation. Police say arson is suspected.

The truck’s owner, 59-year-old Wayne Rattray, was last seen in the early morning hours of Wednesday, March 2 at his residence on Walker Road in Tilley. A short time later, police and fire crews responded to a fire at the home. The fire, which completely destroyed his home, has also been deemed suspicious.

Police have been searching for Rattray since March 2. The RCMP’s Major Crime Unit is now investigating his disappearance, along with the fire at his residence and the discovery of his truck.

Wayne Rattray is described as a Caucasian man with mostly grey hair and blue eyes. He is about 5’8” (178 cm and weighs about 160 lbs (73 kg).

Anyone who may have seen Wayne Rattray is asked to contact the Perth-Andover RCMP at 506-273-5000.
