Man Sentenced to 9 Years after Attempted Murder Charges in Maine

A 38-year-old man was sentenced to 9 years in prison after stabbing a person in Westbrook.

Damian Green will also have 4 years of probation for the January 30 stabbing in a parking lot on Main Street.

Victim Taken to Hospital with Injuries

“The victim was transported to the hospital and survived,” said the Westbrook Police Department.

Charges Related to Stabbing

Green was arrested the next day and charged with Aggravated Attempted Murder, Terrorizing, Assault on an Officer, Refusing to Submit to Arrest, and Violation of Conditions of Release.

Also Arrested in 2023

In November, 2023, police had arrested Green and a woman after they set up a tent in the basement of a Church Street home and refused to leave.

Man and Woman Tried to Get Back in Someone’s Home

Police got Green and the woman to leave initially, but later they tried to get back into the house and blocked the road.

Man Punched and Bit Officers

Green fought with officers when they tried to arrest him and the woman. He punched an officer and bit another officer.
