A 28-year-old man died Wednesday morning after a two-vehicle crash in Millinocket.
One Dead after Two-Vehicle Crash
The motor vehicle crash happened on Outer Central Street near Rice Farm Road around 7:45 am.
Propane Delivery Truck and Sports Utility Vehicle Collided
The East Millinocket Police Department said a propane delivery truck and a sport utility truck collided and left the roadway. Both vehicles had extensive damage.
28-Year-Old Man in Critical Condition after Crash
The SUV driver was in critical condition when first responders arrived.
SUV Driver Pronounced Dead at the Scene of the Crash
The 28-year-old man died at the scene after life saving efforts by the Millinocket Fire Department.
Collision Happened on Ice-Covered Road Conditions
“Preliminary investigation indicates the SUV was traveling westbound when it lost control on ice-covered road conditions, spun out of control and crossed into the eastbound lane, and was struck by the propane truck,” according to the East Millinocket Police Department.
Crash Investigation is Ongoing
The condition of the driver of the propane delivery truck and names were not released. The investigation is active and ongoing.
