
48-Year-Old Man Died and One Injured after Crash in Maine
A 48-year-old man died Monday after a crash on Route 3 in Vassalboro involving a pickup truck and commercial vehicle.
Pickup Truck Driver Died from Injuries
Ryan Page from China, Maine was pronounced dead at the scene.
Driver of Commercial Vehicle Not Injured in Crash
A 64-year-old man, Douglas Boivin from Jay, was driving a commercial vehicle when the collision happened around 3:40 pm. He was not injured in the crash.
Pickup Truck Crossed the Centerline Before Collision with Commercial Vehicle
“The initial investigation indicates the operator of the pickup truck crossed the center line. The commercial motor vehicle operator steered to the right in an attempt to avoid the pickup truck but was unable to completely avoid it,” according to the Maine State Police.
Third Vehicle Swerved to Miss Crash and Struck Guardrail
Another vehicle crashed into a guardrail after swerving to avoid the first crash and the pickup truck in the road. The driver had minor injuries.
The Crash is Under Investigation
The crash investigation is ongoing, said Shannon Moss, Public Information Officer, Maine Department of Public Safety.
Multiple Agencies Responded to the Crash Site.
Assisting the Maine State Police was the Maine State Police Traffic Safety Unit, the Maine State Police Commercial Vehicle Unit, Vassalboro Fire and Rescue, Augusta Fire and Rescue and Delta Ambulance.
