A 56-year-old man was critically injured Wednesday after a single-vehicle crash on Bethel Road in Bethel.

Man Crashed 100 Feet in the Woods

The man from Newry was driving a GMC Sierra pickup truck when he crossed the centerline, struck a guardrail in the breakdown lane, went off the road and crashed about 100 feet in the woods.

Driver Seriously Injured and Taken to Hospital

The Oxford County Sheriff’s Office said the 56-year-old had life-threatening injuries. He was transported to Central Maine Medical Center, according to WGME News.
