Man Arrested for Drug Trafficking after Police Chase in Maine
A 29-year-old man was arrested Saturday after fleeing from police and throwing a paper bag with drugs out the window of his vehicle in Brunswick.
Drug Charges, Eluding Police and Suspended License
Hamet Badia from Lawrence, Massachusetts was arrested for aggravated drug trafficking, 2 counts of unlawful drug trafficking, eluding an office, and operating after suspension.
Man Refused to Stop and Fled from Police
Brunswick Police tried to pull Badia over on Route 1 for a vehicle violation around 12:58 am. Badia refused to stop and sped away at a high rate of speed.
Suspect Tossed Bag Full of Drugs out Car Window
The suspect tossed a paper bag out the window as he was fleeing from police. Officers picked up the bag and found 258.2 grams of fentanyl, 11.9 grams of cocaine, and 9.7 grams of meth.
Driver Apprehended after Chase
Badia pulled over on New Meadows Road after a police chase and was apprehended.
Taken to Jail and Bail Set
He was transported to the Cumberland County Jail with his bail set at $15,000.
