Man Arrested for Domestic Violence after Stabbing Woman in Maine
A 33-year-old man was arrested early Friday morning after he stabbed a woman and hid in the woods from police in Penobscot.
Man Stabbed Woman
The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office said Michael Bakeman was charged with domestic violence and elevated aggravated assault.
911 Call Abruptly Disconnected
A woman called 911 around 4:41 am to say a man was having a medical event. The call was abruptly disconnected after 20 minutes, said police.
Man Fled on Foot into Woods
Deputy Justin Burnett arrived at the home and found the women had been stabbed. She told police Bakeman had fled on foot to a nearby wooded area.
Woman had Non-Life Threatening Injuries
The woman had non-life threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital.
Suspect Taken to Hospital
Additional law enforcement reported to the scene. Bakeman “eventually came out of the woods without incident” and was taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
County Jail
Bakeman was then taken to the Hancock County Jail.
