Windsor Teen Struck by Car While Boarding School Bus
Maine State Police say an Erskine Academy student was struck by a car Wednesday morning as he crossed the road to board a waiting school bus.
The mishap took place on Route 17 in Windsor just after 7 a.m., according to Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland. The bus had stopped in the opposite lane with its lights flashing, at the intersection with Griffin and Vigue Roads. It was snowing at the time.
State Troopers said 15-year-old Tennyson Lincoln from Somerville was struck in the westbound lane by a car driven by 51-year-old Eileen Bayer of Union.
The teen was taken by ambulance to MaineGeneral Hospital in Augusta where he was treated for bumps and bruises and released.
Bayer was charged with failing to stop for a school bus, McCausland said.
