Utility Pole Fell on School Bus after Dump Truck Crashed in Maine
A utility pole and branches fell on a school bus with students on board after a dump truck crashed Thursday morning on Route 117 in Denmark.
School Bus Damaged by Utility Pole and Branches
The Oxford County Sheriff’s Office said there was damage to the front windshield, door and roof of the MSAD 72 bus. Seven students on board and the bus driver were not injured.
Dump Truck Crashed into Trees and Knocked Down Pole
Deputies said the accident happened around 6:40 am when 52-year-old Dennis Michaud left the road in a dump truck, crashed into the trees, and knocked down the utility pole and several branches.
Dump Truck Driver Left the Scene
Michaud was not injured and was able to drive the dump truck back on the road and left the scene of the crash.
Driver Located and Given Summons
Officers located Michaud with the dump truck and issued him a summons for leaving the scene of a crash.
Summons for Unregistered Vehicle
The dump truck was unregistered and R. Rolfe Corporation was also given a summons.
