Man Charged with Kidnapping after 13-Year-Old Girl Found in Maine

A 23-year-old man was arrested Tuesday night and faces multiple charges including kidnapping after a 13-year-old girl was rescued in Portland.

Suspect Faces Multiple Charges

Elijah Coleman was charged with kidnapping, criminal restraint, endangering the welfare of a child, and violating a protective order.

Girl Reported Missing on October 6 and was Last Seen Eight Days Ago

Jadelynn Harlow from Pownal was reported missing on October 6, 2025. She had been missing for eight days and was last seen in Freeport.

Girl Found in Apartment after Week-Long Investigation and Search

“After a week-long investigation, authorities located her at an apartment on 470 Brighton Avenue in Portland. Inside the apartment,” said the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.

Suspect Did Not Live in the Building Where Girl was Located

Deputies said Coleman did not live in the building and has no permanent address.

Previous Domestic Violence Charge

Coleman was already wanted for a probation revocation for a domestic violence charge.

Child Back with Her Family and Kidnapping Remains Under Investigation

Harlow was reunited with her family. The investigation is ongoing, said the Sheriff’s Office.
