Island Falls I-95 Detour to Re-Open on Monday
Drivers heading north on Interstate 95 will be happy come Monday afternoon, as the traffic detour on Route 2 in Island Falls will be no longer.
Road Closed
The Maine Department of Transportation said today that I-95 northbound from Island Falls to Oakfield will re-open to traffic 12 days ahead of schedule.
In June, the 6.5 mile stretch of I-95 northbound was closed to traffic as crews worked to reconstruct the interstate due to frost heaving. Crews also repaired and replaced existing guardrails and drainage structures as well as minor bridge work.
