Fugitive Wanted after Dragging Deputy with Vehicle in Maine
A 37-year-old fugitive was wanted on multiple charges after dragging a Deputy on a vehicle in West Paris, Maine.
Fugitive Wanted by U.S. Marshals
The Oxford County Sheriff’s Office said Michael Litchfield Jr. was wanted by U.S. Marshals for a Probation Violation for drug charges.
Wanted Man Parked in Vehicle
Deputy Andre Chasse located Litchfield in a vehicle parked at the Rusty Lantern on Route 26.
Suspect Fought with Deputy in Physical Altercation
“Litchfield refused lawful orders to exit the vehicle which resulted in a physical confrontation; Litchfield actively fought with the deputy and resisted arrest,” said the Sheriff’s Office.
Deputy Dragged by Vehicle
Litchfield tried to drive away into a field and dragged Deputy Chasse alongside the vehicle. Chasse was almost run over and fell off the driver’s side.
Fled the Scene at High Rate of Speed
Litchfield then drove across the field and fled the scene at a high rate of speed. The abandoned vehicle was later located on Fuller Road.
Fugitive on the Loose
A k-9 team tried to track him but did not find Litchfield. He remains on the loose and law enforcement is looking for him.
Deputy Injured and Taken to Hospital
Deputy Chasse had abrasions to his face and head along with other minor bruises and contusions. He was transported to Stephens Memorial Hospital and released.
Female in Vehicle
“An adult female was inside the vehicle with Litchfield and she has been identified; her role in this incident is still being evaluated,” said the Sheriff’s Office.
Additional Charges
Litchfield faces charges for Aggravated Assault w/Dangerous Weapon, Assault on a Police Officer, Driving to Endanger, Refusing to Submit to Arrest and Violation of Conditions of Release.
