Fugitive Arrested after Fleeing on Foot Following Crash in Maine
A 45-year-old woman was arrested Thursday morning as Fugitive from Justice after she fled a crash on foot on I-295 in Freeport.
Fugitive Fled on Foot after Crash on Maine Interstate
The Maine State Police said Holli Tapley of Shelton, Connecticut had an extraditable warrant out for her arrest for kidnapping. She was in violation of her parole.
Female Suspect Ran into the Woods
Tapley gave Cpl. Klayton Peckham her ID and then ran from police into the woods nearby.
Witness Reported Female in the Area
A resident from Freeport reported seeing the woman walking from the Interstate in the area of the crash.
Suspect Fled on Foot to Backyard
Officers with the Freeport Police Department and Troopers “located a female in the driveway of a residence talking with a Freeport resident who was cleaning off his vehicle. Once Sgt. Hanson and Freeport Officers stopped to talk to the female she fled on foot into the backyard of the residence.” said Shannon Moss, Public Information Officer, Maine Department of Public Safety.
Awaiting Extradition
Tapley was detained and taken into custody. She was taken to the Cumberland County Jail. She is awaiting extradition.
