
L.L. Bean Plans Store Expansion as Part of 2026 Growth
The Maine-based outdoor retail chain has mapped out major expansion plans as part of a larger strategy heading into 2026.
It’s always encouraging to hear about businesses and stores expanding and opening new locations, especially at a time when so much of the news in 2025 seems to focus on places shutting their doors.

L.L. Bean says it will open eight new stores across the country next year, including its first-ever locations in Alabama and Tennessee.
The outdoor retailer also plans to open another eight to 10 stores in 2027, according to an email shared earlier this month.

Additionally, plans to open new L.L. Bean stores next year across eight states, including Alabama, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, Ohio, Illinois, Colorado, and Michigan.
The company said all seven stores that opened this year—including its first location in Florida—exceeded expectations and that existing stores continue to see strong year-over-year growth.

And there you have it! L.L. Bean will be opening new stores across the country in 2026, including in states that have never had an L.L. Bean location before.
