Fox Bit 2 People in Maine Over 2 Days
LEWISTON, Maine (AP) — Police in Lewiston are urging residents to be cautious after a fox bit two people.
The first incident happened Thursday night when a fox bit a woman on the arm as she tried to protect her dog from the wild animal. The second happened Friday morning when a man was bitten.
Police told the Sun Journal that the animal is believed to have a face full of porcupine quills. Authorities searched for the animal but couldn't find it.
Thirty-one animals have tested positive for rabies in Maine this year, including four foxes.
