Fire Destroys St. Agatha Business

A St. Agatha business was destroyed by fire early Saturday morning.

According to North Lakes Fire & Rescue, crews responded to an early morning mutual aid call in St Agatha, at the property of RF Chamberland.

North Lakes responded with three trucks and approximately a dozen firefighters, and assisted St. Agatha and Frenchville Fire Departments with containing the blaze.

The garage building was a total loss but due to quick response by St. Agatha Fire and good coordination between neighboring fire departments, a number of nearby structures were saved.

The fire is under investigation by the Maine State Fire Marshall's office and a cause has not yet been determined.
