Family of Five Safe After House Fire, Fort Fairfield, Maine
The Fort Fairfield Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire early Saturday morning at 128 Fort Hill Street. Upon arrival at 12:37 a.m. the home was completely on fire.
David and Courtney Raymond and their three children were alerted by smoke detectors and made it out safely. Two of their three dogs and one cat were lost.
The home was a complete loss, said officials. Firefighters were able to save the garage and a vehicle.
The family was put in touch with the Red Cross. The Fire and Police Department are taking donations of clothing for the family due them losing everything. Fort Fairfield Police set up a GofundMe on Facebook.
The Fire Marsha’s office was called to help with the investigation. Assisting on the scene was a total of 15 firefighters, the Fort Police Department, Mutual Aid from Easton Fire Department and Emera.
