Man Charged with Assault after 2-Week-Old Infant Injured in Maine
A 21-year-old man was arrested Thursday and charged after a 2-week-old infant was assaulted in Brewer.

The Brewer Police Department said Matthew Lane was taken into custody and charged with Assault.
2-Week-Old Taken to Hospital
The infant was taken to the hospital for an evaluation.
DHHS Notified
“The child does not appear to have any significant injuries. DHHS was notified regarding this incident,” said Brewer PD.
Police Investigating
Lane was transported to the Penobscot County Jail. The investigation is ongoing.
