Much of Aroostook County is closed today with the abundance of snow that fell to the ground overnight and continues to fall this morning. The National Weather Service Office in Caribou is warning motorists to stay off roads due to gusty winds making road conditions treacherous.

Blowing and drifting snow will be a serious issue this morning from Caribou to Danforth and across much of New Brunswick as well.

Several motors have become stranded on some un-plowed roadways across the region which feature significant drifts ranging from 2 to 4 feet deep.

I took this photo from the front door of my home this morning, to show you just how much snow we got and how much it actually drifts.

Anyone planning to travel this morning should keep in mind that road crews are struggling to keep up with snow removal due to the amount of snow, drifts and high winds.

If you don't have to go out today, please stay off the roadways and stay safe out there. Several police agencies across the County are encouraging motorists to stay off the roadways as well.
