
Three Men Sentenced to Prison for Drug Trafficking in Maine
Three men were sentenced for drug trafficking in Penobscot and Aroostook Counties.
4.5 Years in Prison
John Miller, 24-years-old from Caribou, was sentenced to 54 months in prison with three years of supervised release. He pleaded guilty on April 19, 2023.
4 Years in Prison
Jason Cunrod, 42-years-old from Caribou, was sentenced to 48 months in prison to be followed by three years of supervised release. He pleaded guilty on August 29, 2023.
Time Served
Joshua Young, 48-years-old from Presque Isle, was sentenced to time served (approximately 62 days), followed by three years of supervised release to include 24 months of home detention. He pleaded guilty on April 26, 2023.
Drug Trafficking Charges
They were all charged with conspiring to distribute and possess with intent to distribute meth and fentanyl.
Coded Language for Drugs
Miller, Cunrod and Young regularly arranged to buy drugs from a co-conspirator through phone calls, texts and social media using coded language, according to Court records.
Dozens of Firearms
“Miller provided his source with dozens of firearms that he acquired from various individuals in Aroostook County,” said the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Northern Maine Drug Trafficking Ring
There have been 21 defendants already charged for their roles in the northern Maine drug trafficking ring. Seventeen people have been sentenced and four are awaiting sentencing.
