A 41-year-old man from Monticello was sentenced to 55 years in prison after he was convicted of Murder.
Aroostook County Man Guilty of Murdering Woman
Jayme Schnackenberg was found guilty of murdering 41-year-old Kimberly Hardy execution-style with two bullets to the back of her head, said WABI News.
Woman Died in 2023
Hardy was killed in June 2023. Her body was found on the side of the road in Monticello.
Jury Trial Ended in January
A jury trial lasted five days in January 2025 that led to the guilty verdict.
Prosecution Wanted 60 Years
A 60 year sentence was requested by the prosecution. The defense asked for 38 years after the conviction.
Aggravating Circumstances
The U.S. Attorney’s Office said aggravating circumstances contributed to the sentence, including Schnackenberg's lack of acceptance of the crime and him blaming others for the murder.
