30-Year-Old Man Arrested for Drug Trafficking in Maine
A 30-year-old man was arrested Thursday for three counts of unlawful drug trafficking in Portland, Maine.
Charged with Three Counts of Drug Trafficking Fentanyl
The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and Portland Police Department said James Ferrar was taken into custody around 1 pm Thursday.
Arrested as Suspect Delivered Fentanyl
Ferrar was apprehended “without incident as he delivered fentanyl to an undercover agent in the west end of Portland,” said police.
Multiple Undercover Purchases
Several undercover purchases directly from Ferrar were done during the months-long investigation into fentanyl trafficking.
Packaged Fentanyl Seized
After his arrest, officials executed a search warrant at 252 Vaughn Street and seized more than 100 grams of fentanyl, digital scales, packaging materials and other items indicative of illegal drug trafficking. The fentanyl was packaged in assorted weights in preparation for resale. The approximate street value of the seized fentanyl is $10,000.
Additional Drug Charges
“Ferrar faces additional drug trafficking charges related to the seized fentanyl,” said the MDEA.
Bail set at $1000
He was taken to the Cumberland County Jail where bail was set on the warrants at $1000.00.
