Woman Sitting in Median Hit by SUV before Head-On Crash in Maine
Two people were injured Monday after SUV hit a woman while she was sitting in a median in South Portland and then the collided with another vehicle.
Pedestrian and Driver Injured
The crash happened around 3:30 pm in front of the Days Inn on the Maine Mall Road.

The South Portland Police Department said the “male driver struck and seriously injured a female pedestrian while she sat in a median. The SUV then struck a car traveling in the opposite direction head-on.”
Two People Injured and Taken to the Hospital
The woman and the driver of the other vehicle were both taken to the hospital with injuries. The man driving the SUV was not injured.
Police said Charges Possible
The crash investigation is ongoing with charges possible, said SPPD.
