The Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office said a truck towing a trailer with horses on board went off the road.
Trailer Hit Several Trees
The trailer hit several trees after the truck detached. The two horses were seriously injured.
One Horse Died Instantly and One Euthanized
“One horse died instantly, and the second had to be euthanized due to its serious injuries,” said the Sheriff’s Office.
Truck Driver Injured and Transported to Hospital
The driver was injured and removed from the truck by first responders. They were taken to a local hospital for treatment.
