
Two Died after SUV Crashed & Burst into Flames in Maine
Two people died early Monday morning after a crash and fire on Main Street in Readfield.
Vehicle Hit Tree and Caught on Fire
The Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office said the SUV collided with a tree and burst into flames.

Bodies to be Identified
Their bodies were transported to the Office of the Medical Examiner for identification.
SUV Sped Past Trooper
The Maine State Police said a Trooper saw a Ford Flex SUV sped past him going 70 mph. Police had looked for the speeding SUV before the crash and believe it was the same vehicle.

Deputies said speed may be a factor in the crash. The investigation remains open.
