
Man Sentenced for Entering the U.S. after Prior Removals in Maine
A 33-year-old man was sentenced to time served for entering the United States after prior removals.

William Leonardo Dutan Gagui from Ecuador has been incarcerated since September 14, 2025.
Sentenced in United States District Court in Maine
The sentence was handed down by U.S. District Judge John A. Woodcock, Jr.
Taken into Custody after Traffic Stop and Illegal Alien Driver
Gagui was apprehended after a van driven by an illegal alien was stopped for speeding. He was a passenger in the vehicle.
Did Not Have Documentation to be in the Country Legally
“When asked, Dutan Gagui admitted he was a citizen of Ecuador and that he did not have any documentation to be in the U.S. legally,” according to the United States Attorney’s Office.
Man Removed From The United States Twice Before
Immigration records confirmed Gagui had been removed from the United States in November 2011 and August 2016.

Case Investigated by Border Protection Agents
The case was investigated by the U.S. Custom and Border Protection.
