Seizure of Over 20,000 Contraband Cigarettes in Hartland, New Brunswick
69-year-old Jean Claude Alary was fined $4999.88 after pleading guilty to possession of unstamped tobacco products after the RCMP seized the cigarettes last November.
The New Brunswick RCMP Tactical Traffic Enforcement Unit conducted a traffic stop on Highway 2 in Hartland, N.B on November 2nd. More than 20,000 contraband cigarettes and 44 illegal cigars were seized as a result of the stop.
Alary pled guilty to possession of unstamped tobacco products under the Excise Act on January 30th.
