Saint-Léonard RCMP Seeking Suspect in Home Invasion/Robbery
The RCMP wants the public's help locating a suspect after a home invasion, assault and robbery in Saint-Basile, New Brunswick that sent a man and a woman to hospital.
The Saint-Léonard RCMP responded to a report of an armed robbery at the residence around 7 PM Sunday. Investigators determined that a man entered the home on Chemin Riviere-Verte, and demanded money from the man and woman who were in the house. Official say the suspect spoke English without an accent.
An altercation occurred between the residents of the home and the suspect. The male resident was stabbed with a knife by the suspect and suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries. He was taken to hospital, where he remains in stable condition. The woman was also taken to hospital and treated for minor injuries.
The suspect is described as being approximately 5'8" tall, with a shaved head and several days of dark facial hair growth. He was dressed in a black long-sleeved shirt and a ball cap, and may also have a neck tattoo. He fled the home in a grey 2000s-model hatchback car, with an undisclosed amount of cash.
