Police are investigating the death of a 1-year-old child Wednesday morning in Vinalhaven.

Police Investigating Death of 1-Year-Old Child in Maine

The Maine State Police said the child was found unresponsive on July 10, according to the Courier-Gazette.

First Responders Reported to the Scene

Vinalhaven Emergency Medical Services and the Knox County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene.

Maine State Police Investigating

The investigation was turned over to the Maine State Police as standard protocol in an unattended death of a child.
