The Pizza Box in Presque Isle has a new owner and is moving locations in town. Matt Theriault and family are the new proprietors and are relocating to 19 Davis Street (where Mrs. Mike’s Donuts used to be).

Moving days are March 26th and 27th and opening day on Davis Street is March 28th.

Theriault and his family decided to move The Pizza Box because of better parking for customers and a bigger kitchen. Delivery drivers have easier access too. “It will take us off Maine Street, but if the food is good and the product’s good, it doesn’t matter where we go, people are still going to come eat.” Everything’s going from the original location – the pizza ovens, freezers, refrigerators and all the kitchen stuff. The new location will have some seating area with picnic tables in summer. They will be open seven days a week on Davis Street.

The previous owner, Jay Michaud, moved to North Carolina last year. He owned the Pizza Box for 7 years. Theriault said, “The best thing to do was sell it to a local person.”

They’re planning a Grand Opening on April 7, 8, 9 with some discounts. “We’re going to do 15% off everybody’s order all three days. There will be three raffles, one each day - a $25 Pizza Box gift certificate, a $50 certificate & a 32” color TV for the grand prize. You can win once over the weekend. This will help draw in new customers to taste our product and maybe they’ll keep coming back.”

“We load our pizzas. Nothing’s going to change. For other menu items, I don’t want to change any of that.” The phone number is the same and their Facebook page is up to date.

Theriault has lived in Presque Isle most of his life. He’s worked in the service industry for 10 years at City Dry Cleaners in Presque Isle. He and his family got into the pizza business because they wanted to try something new and the opportunity was right. His wife, Sherri and son, Kalen Fox, work with him. Chris Fuller and Kylie Fuller are also part of the family business. Other employees, Sheana Caron and Kemzen Adams, work there as well.

Theriault says he’s here to “take care of his family, and support the community anyway that I possibly can. We help the homeless shelter, Sister Mary O’Donnell, one night a week. We call them up and find out how many people they have staying there. We serve them how many pizzas they need so each individual gets at least three slices. It’s giving back to the community to those that need it.”
