A 66-year-old Moncton man died after his car was struck by a pick-up truck at the intersection of Morton Avenue and McLaughlin Road, according to Sgt. André Pepin of the Codiac Regional RCMP.

Sgt. Pepin said the man died at the scene from his injuries around 3 a.m. Friday.

The driver of the pickup, 34-year-old Melissa Amanda Lane of Moncton, was not injured in the crash. A passenger was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

RCMP say Lane was arrested and charged with impaired driving causing death. Lane was remanded into custody following an appearance in Moncton Provincial Court Friday. She is due back in court on Monday.
