
Man Arrested after Driving Wrong-Way on Interstate in Maine
A 26-year-old man was arrested Friday night and charged with OUI after driving the wrong way on I-295 in Bowdoinham.

Rashard Robinson from Chesapeake, Virginia was taken into custody around 11:30 pm after Maine State Police Troopers boxed him in and stopped his vehicle.
Police Tried to Get Ahead of the Vehicle to Stop It
Police attempted to get ahead of the vehicle as several reports were called into 911 dispatch.
Trooper Boxed Wrong-Way Driver in and Stopped the Vehicle
A Trooper was able to position a cruiser in a crossover on I-295 and “safely entered the roadway where he successfully boxed the offending vehicle in, resulting in the vehicle stopping,” said the Maine Department of Public Safety.
Facing Multiple Charges Including Operating Under the Influence
Robinson was apprehended without incident and charged with Operating Under the Influence and Reckless Conduct with a Dangerous Weapon.
Suspect Taken to Jail and Ongoing Investigation
He was transported to the Kennebec County Jail. The investigation is ongoing.
Several Motorists Called 911 to Report Wrong-Way Driver
“The Maine State Police would like to thank the numerous motorists who reported the wrong-way driver and the assistance from Gardiner Police Department,” said Shannon Moss, Public Information Officer, Maine Department of Public Safety.
