The Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office says a Milford man shot multiple times at people trying to steal his marijuana plants on the Main Road Wednesday night.

The two suspects fled into the woods behind the apartment building, said officials. The Penobscot County Regional Communications Center received multiple calls at the same time reporting gun shots in the area. The incident happened around 10 PM Wednesday night.

The State Police, Old Town officers and deputies from the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office were unable to locate the people trying to steal the marijuana plants.

Authorities say there is no indication that the suspects were hit by the gunfire.

Contact the sheriff’s office at 945-4636 if you have any information about this incident. Deputies would like to locate and interview the two subjects involved.

The investigation is continuing.
