A 39-year-old man was sentenced to over 5 years in prison after an assault, police standoff and illegally possessing a firearm.

Sentenced to 5+ Years in Prison

Corey Faulkner from Westbrook was sentenced to 64 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release.

8 Hour Standoff with Police

Faulkner was arrested in October 2023 after an 8 hour standoff with police. Court records said he assaulted and strangled a woman at his residence.

Suspect had a Firearm

The victim fled the scene and told officers he had a firearm. Faulkner made suicidal threats and then stopped communication with law enforcement.

Drones and Robot used for Arrest

Court records said Police executed an arrest warrant “and breached the building’s basement, using unmanned drones and a robot to locate him in a bathroom. Faulkner surrendered when the bathroom window was breached.”

Shotgun and 9mm Seized

Police seized a 12-gauge shotgun, 12-gauge ammunition, 9mm pistol case, 9mm ammunition and 9mm pistol.

Not Allowed to have a Firearm

Faulkner was precluded from possessing any firearms due to his conviction history, said the Department of Justice.
