
Man Escaped Sinking Car After Driving into Lake in Maine
A 73-year-old man escaped from his vehicle after driving off a ferry landing and sinking into Sebago Lake in Raymond.
Car Sank 8 Feet Deep in Lake
The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office said the man “drove off the Frye Island Ferry Landing while the ferry wasn't docked. The car reportedly sank eight feet deep into the lake.”
Injured Man Helped Out of Sinking Vehicle
The driver was helped out of the car by “Good Samaritans.” He was injured and taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland.
Ferry Services Interrupted
The Frye Island Ferry Service was delayed briefly and then back to normal operations, according to WGME News.
Possible Water Contamination
The Maine EPA was called to the scene due to the possibility of water contamination. The crash remains under investigation.
