
Woman Sentenced to 5 Years for Drug Trafficking Ring in Maine
A 36-year-old woman was sentenced to 5 years in prison for her role in a drug trafficking ring in Aroostook and Penobscot Counties.
60 Months Behind Bars
Sarah McBreairty from Dixmont was given 60 months with five years supervised release. She pleaded guilty in March 2023.
Drugs & Firearms Charges
McBreairty was charged with conspiring to distribute and possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine and fentanyl, and conspiring to make false statements to a federal firearms licensee.
Trafficked in Northern and Central Maine
McBreairty trafficked meth and fentanyl to Aroostook County and Penobscot County between January 2018 and December 2021, said court records.
Coded Language and Network of Dealers
She used coded language in text and phone calls to purchase drugs from an out-of-state supplier. She then distributed the drugs through a network of dealers in Maine.
Lied to Firearms Dealer
“McBreairty and a co-defendant made false statements to an area federal firearms licensee in an attempt to obtain several firearms,” said the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
22 People Charged in Drug Ring
There have been 22 defendants charged in the widespread northern Maine drug trafficking conspiracy. So far, 19 have been sentenced with three awaiting sentencing.
