A 49-year-old man died Tuesday after being hit by an 82-year-old man in Portland.
Fatal Crash Involving Pedestrian and Vehicle
The pedestrian and vehicle crash happened around 11:28 am at the intersection of Marginal Way and Preble Street.
Pedestrian Critically Injured and Died at the Hospital
The Portland Police Department said the male pedestrian had life threatening injuries and was transported to Maine Medical Center where he died shortly after from his injuries.

No Files Charged in the Case as the Investigation is Ongoing
The investigation is ongoing and no charges have been filed in the case as the evidence is reviewed.
Crash Under Investigation by Police
The Portland Police Department's Crash Reconstruction Team was on the scene of the crash to investigate the circumstances of the collision.

Area Closed to Traffic for Four Hours
The intersection was closed for about four hours and later reopened to traffic.
