
56-Year-Old Man Died after Crash into Trees on I-95 in Maine
A 56-year-old man died Monday after a single-vehicle crash on I-95 in Pittsfield.
Extricated from Vehicle and Died at the Scene
Rae Hartford from Scarborough had to be extricated from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene around 5:55 am.
Vehicle had Gone into Median and Crashed into Trees on I-95
The Maine State Police said Hartford’s 2012 Subaru Impreza had gone into the median and was lodged in the trees. The crash happened near mile marker 143.
“Speed and Intoxication Likely Contributing Factors”
“Preliminary investigation indicates speed and intoxication were likely contributing factors,” according to Shannon Moss, Public Information Officer, Maine Department of Public Safety.
Lane Closed on I-95 for Several Hours and Crash Investigation is Ongoing
One lane was closed to traffic for almost two hours while the scene was cleared. The crash remains under investigation.
