Man Crashed into Car & Garage and Abandoned Boat & Truck in Maine
A 23-year-old man was charged after crashing a truck into a car and garage and abandoning a boat and truck in the road in Parsonsfield. The incident happened on Route 160 in the early morning of July 4.
Driver Crashed into Car and Garage
The Maine State Police said Joshua Hermance of Parsonsfield was driving a Chevy pickup with a 12-foot aluminum boat in the truck bed when he missed a turn and crashed into a parked vehicle and a garage.
Man Drove Wheel Off Truck
Hermance backed up and left the scene. He kept driving until ”shredding the front driver’s side tire until it was completely separated from the rim.” He abandoned the truck and fled the scene, said police.
Debris Field Left Behind Including Boat
Hermance “left a debris field to include the boat which fell out of the truck.”
Facing Multiple Charges
He is charged with Failure to Give Notice of Accident by Quickest Means, Failure to Notify Owner of Property Damage Accident, Failure to Produce or Return to Scene of Accident, and Leaving Scene of a PD Accident.
Ongoing Investigation
No one was injured. Police said Hermance is cooperating with the investigation.
